I have been playing the harp this summer on a volunteer basis to "intern" for harp practitioner work in a hospital setting. Corona Regional Medical Center, under new ownership, including a major remodel, hopes to improve their past reputation.
I felt that harp music in the lobby, ICU and other locations as well as the Rehabilitation Hospital would help them with that endeavor.
I have enjoyed the experience very much, but the much hoped for grant or other payments have not come to fruition, due to poor summer seasonal figures.
I will continue to pursue hospital work in the future, but while the busy holiday season is upon us, not to mention flu season, perhaps, I'll wait for a while.
